Irish libraries during the lockdown
Online library services were well established prior to the lockdown in Ireland. Over the course of the lockdown, libraries pushed for digital content to be easily accessible to their community and ensured Irish citizens were aware they could join the library online and have access to this content. As new library members joined during this period, there was a notable increase in e-learning courses and language courses being taken.
Libraries Ireland launched a pilot peer-to-peer training programme to promote the use of online library sources and help empower older people to get online and safely use online services. That’s not all that happened in Irish libraries, make sure to check out more of the activities that went on in Ireland in the video below!
